Royal Enfield is currently in a transition phase where it is updating older models for new ones. While Meteor 350 came to replace the Thunderbird range in late 2020, the new generation Classic replaced the older generation model last year. Both new models are based on a 350cc platform that uses a new J-series engine.

Soon this new combination of platform and engine will also be seen in the upcoming Hunter 350 and has also been spied on many times during the testing phase. Another motorcycle that will use this combo is the new generation Bullet 350 and a test mule of the same has been spotted for the time.

The development of the new generation Bullet has been in the news quite often, but so far there is no evidence of that. The latest spy spic is the first confirmation about the development of the bike.

Looking at recent spyshots, you can immediately notice several differences in detail compared to the existing Bullet 350. The biggest highlight is a double-cradle frame that holds the engine like a stressed part, unlike the current model which has a single down tube frame.

Engine construction and housing are similar to Meteor and the new-generation Classic, with a new-generation J-series engine taking over from the departing UCE (unified construction engine) unit. Apart from this, there are some subtle but important visual updates.

For example, the test prototype can be seen with a new headlight and taillight that closely resembles Classic Reborn. It also gets a new headlight housing embellished with chrome. It gets a brand new one-piece seat, although the padding resembles the split-style seats in the new Classic. Front and rear fenders will also be different units from their predecessor.

Speaking of the saddle, the rider’s saddle gets a nice kink that should be good lumbar support for the rider’s tailbone. New-gen Bullet gets a similar handlebar that is larger and pulled more towards the rider than the one in Classic Reborn. In addition, it is fitted with round rear-view mirrors also dipped in chrome.

It will be interesting to see if Royal Enfield offers a kickstart with the new generation Bullet 350, as many purists love the kickstart feel. Most Bullet buyers are such purists, but the new J-series engine in Meteor and Classic doesn’t come with a kickstart. More details are expected to surface in the coming months.

New Gen Bullet 350 – Expected specs

The new Royal Enfield Bullet is powered by a 349cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivers 20.2 horsepower and 27 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by conventional telescopic forks in the front and dual shock absorbers in the rear. Braking is provided by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear and is assisted by a single-channel ABS.
