1. Yamaha YZF R15 V4

Unsurprisingly, at the top of the list was the Yamaha YZF R15 V4. The motorcycle has enjoyed enormous popularity from the start, mainly due to the combination of accessibility and sportiness it delivers. The bike got its biggest update this year, bringing with it a ton of goodies like traction control, quick shifter and upside-down forks. The prices of the bike start at Rs 1.71 lakh.

2. KTM RC 125

The second-placed R15 was followed by KTM’s smallest supersport, the RC 125. The RC 125 also received an extensive makeover with new styling, additional features and revised hardware. The bike now looks bigger and premium, while the 125cc engine is said to have a better low-end grunt with a bigger airbox. KTM pegged the new RC 125 at Rs 1.82 lakh.

3. TVS Apache RR310

The TVS Apache RR 310 claimed the thirsty spot in terms of popularity in 2021. While it’s already a pretty accomplished and versatile bike, TVS didn’t hold back from giving it a little refresh. In addition to minor updates, the bike can now be equipped with select add-ons via TVS’ Built to Order (BTO) platform. Two optional kits are available, including Dynamic and Race, which target different purposes. The new Apache RR 310 costs Rs 2.60 lakh and the BTO kits charge an extra premium.

4. Bajaj Pulsar RS 200

The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is the most dated offering on this list and got absolutely no update this year. Despite this, netizens couldn’t stop themselves from researching it and putting it on this list. Beneath its busy body is a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 199.5 cc engine with an output of 24.14 hp and 18.7 Nm. It also gets full-LED lighting and a semi-digital console. Bajaj is selling the Pulsar RS 200 for Rs 1.63 lakh.

5. KTMRC 390

The fifth most popular sports bike in India is also the most powerful on this list, the KTM RC 390. It is getting similar updates to the RC 125 in India, but the new version is already available abroad. The 2022 RC 390 is much more modern than its predecessor with features such as a Bluetooth-enabled TFT color display, switchable ABS, lean angle sensitive cornering ABS, cornering traction control and quick shifter. And the 373cc engine, already quite powerful, is even more punchy and tractable. It will be priced higher than the existing version of the RC 390 which costs Rs 2.77 lakh.
