– Expectant bajaj electric scooter spied testing
– Features design different from the Chetak
– Mechanical specifications not yet known
Bajaj seems to be rigorously testing its upcoming electric scooter. After being spotted in testing last month, a camouflaged scooter test mule was once again spied on recently. And just like last time, it was also accompanied by the existing Bajaj Chetak e-scooter.

Available details on this new electric scooter are currently scarce. The only thing we can decipher from the spyshot is that it will have a different and more modern design than the Chetak. There is an upward-facing tail section, a wide one-piece handle and a seat that looks like a split unit. However, what is identical to the Chetak is the design of the alloy rear wheel. In the previous spyshots, the scooter’s instrument panel was clear and it was a circular unit similar to the one on the Chetak.

The mechanical specs won’t be known until we get closer to the official debut. This will most likely be a premium offering than the Chetak with a longer battery range and higher top speed. As Rajiv Bajaj mentioned in the latest release, a majority of the company’s R&D is working on developing new EV technologies. The company has also started work at its new factory in Akurdi, Pune, which will focus on the production of electric two-wheelers for both the domestic and export markets.
