Hero MotoSports’ Joaquim Rodrigues wins the third stage of Dakar 2022

– Lorenzo Santolino of Sherco Factory is sixth overall

– The next stage of the rally covers a total of 707 km

The Hero MotoSports Team Rally has made history by winning the third stage of the ongoing Dakar Rally 2022. This is the first-ever stage win in the Dakar by an Indian team and an Indian manufacturer. Hero MotoSports Team Rally rider Joaquim Rodrigues, who is in Dakar for the team for the sixth time in a row, won the stage with a time of 2:34:41. His teammate, Aaron Maré, finished the stage in 18th position.

Hero Left Front Three Quarters

At the end of the third stage, Aaron Maré was 10th in the overall standings, while Joaquim Rodrigues was in 17th place. Sherco Factory riders, Lorenzo Santolino, Rui Gonçalves and Harith Noah Koitha Veettil finished the third stage in 20th, 23rd and 29th positions respectively. In the overall standings, Santolino, Veettil and Gonçalves are in sixth, 31st and 42nd place respectively.

The third leg of the ongoing Dakar Rally 2022, which included a special section of 255 km, started from Al Qaisumah. The fourth stage of the rally will be the longest of Dakar 2022. It will cover a total of 707 km from Al Qaisumah to Riyadh, including a special section of 465 km.
