Hero MotoSports Team Rally continued to deliver on the Dakar Rally 2022 with another top 10 finish. Joaquim Rodrigues finished the stage in eighth position while his teammate, Aaron Mare, secured 21st place. Sherco Factory rider Rui Gonçalves finished the stage in 14th position, while his teammates, Lorenzo Santolino and Harith Noah Koitha Veettil, took 20th and 26th position respectively.

Stage eight, which started with sand dunes, moved quickly to narrow paths full of rocks and then wet stretches, before entering a constant web of valleys. The ninth stage of the Dakar Rally 2022 kicks off the final leg of the race and is a 490km loop around Wadi Ad-Dawasir, with mountains and tracks winding their way through canyons.
