– Honda trademarks X-ADV name
– Powered by 745cc engine
– India launch unlikely
Honda has registered a trademark for the X-ADV name in India. Now the Honda X-ADV is an incredibly interesting two-wheeler. Styled like a max scooter, it comes with hardware suitable for off-road riding.
For starters, it rides on spoked wheels and dual-sport tires. It also gets a five-step adjustable windshield, knuckle guards and an aluminum bash plate to complete the package. In addition, the Honda X-ADV has a narrow inseam that allows shorter riders to put both feet on the ground. And to top it off, the adventure scooter is powered by a 745cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 57 hp and 69 NM and is mated to a dual clutch transmission or DCT like the Honda Africa Twin.
And now that the scooter’s name is trademarked, will it be launched in India soon? We don’t think so. As tempting as it is, the Honda X-ADV is unlikely to make its way to India as the company would not be able to price it competitively. In addition, Honda has also filed the ADV 150 and CBR250RR in the country before and it is unlikely that those two-wheelers will come to our country for the same reasons.
