Tork Motors has announced the launch of their electric motorcycle, the Kratos, in the Indian market with ex-showroom prices starting at Rs 1,92,499 (ex-showroom, Pune before subsidies). The motorcycle will be available in two variants – standard and R. The more premium version is priced at Rs 2,07,499 (ex-showroom, Pune before subsidies). After the grant, the ex-showroom (Pune) price for the Kratos and the Kratos R stands at Rs 1,07,999 and Rs 1,2,999 respectively.
The bookings for the motorcycles have been opened on the company’s website for Rs 999. The Tork Kratos will be launched in phases.
In terms of design, the new Tork Kratos features a naked roadster styling that is complemented by a triangular headlamp, split seat and two-piece grab handles for the pillion passenger. The electric motorcycle features list includes full LED lighting and a full digital instrument panel. Built around a steel trellis frame, the bike uses telescoping front forks and a mono-shock rear to handle the suspension tasks. The braking duties are handled by single discs at either end, while the safety net includes CBS.
The standard Tork Kratos electric motor is tuned to deliver peak power of 7.5 kW or 10.05 hp and maximum torque of 28 Nm. The R variant, on the other hand, delivers 9 kW or 12.06 hp and 38 Nm peak torque. Both variants use a 4 kWh, IP67 certified, lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to provide an IDC range of 180 km.
Aside from increased power, the R variant further benefits from additional features over the standard model. Think of fast charging, two years of free access to the charging network and geofencing. The base model is available in a single white color option. The R variant is shown in four colors: white, blue, red and black.
