Yamaha R15 V4 and R15M Features and Specifications

R15 V4 and R15M include a series of updates, compared to the R15 V3 model. Instead of the dual LED headlight configuration, the new R15 bikes get a single projector headlight. The front end now looks sportier with new, sharp LED daytime running lights. Changes can also be seen to the fairing, fuel tank, muffler and tail section. Body graphics have also been updated.

As for functional updates, the R15 V4 and R15M get a new all-digital instrument console. Powered by Bluetooth, the console offers a range of connectivity features. These are accessible through Yamaha’s Y-Connect app. Some useful features include alerts for calls, SMS and email, phone battery level, fuel consumption tracker, trip data analysis, fault reporting, maintenance recommendations and last parking location.

Another major update to the R15 V5 and R15M is the gold finish USD forks. This feature was a long-standing demand from enthusiasts, which has been met with the updated version. USD forks were available with international specification R15, but it was not offered in India. R15M is priced more expensively, as it includes a number of additional features such as a gold brake caliper, R15M logo on the pillion seat and quickshifter. On R15 V4 quickshifter is only available with Racing Blue variant.

The engine is the same for both, a 155cc liquid-cooled 4-valve SOHC unit generating 18.4 ps of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. Braking duties are performed by 282mm and 220mm discs front and rear respectively. Dual channel ABS is standard.
