– Yamaha E01 e-scooter spotted in Japan
– Preserves most of the design from concept
– Reveal soon
Like most other two-wheelers on the market, Yamaha has also developed a range of new electric two-wheelers. The project E01 is one of the first and luckily a production version has recently been spotted.
The e-scooter caught on camera was wearing camouflaged clothing, but appears to be fully production ready. This makes us suspect that the scooter was there for a special preview. First unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, the Yamaha E01 is an electric maxi scooter that will be sold in Japan as well as some European markets.
It is clear from the photos that the brand is sticking to the concept styling and has not changed much. The only major change we can see is that big seat that looks more conventional. The fenders, headlight housings and charging port cover have also been changed a bit.
There is still no concrete information about the motor and battery pack, but we can expect Yamaha to give lead figures for it. The production version of E01 does not come with a replaceable battery like other Yamaha e-scooters. Speaking of the global launch, we expect it to happen in the coming weeks and yes, the E01 won’t be coming to India anytime soon.
